Short term car
insurance and how it may help
Short term car insurance
is growing in popularity with motor vehicle drivers. Short term car
insurance is a policy that can last as little as one day or as long as
eight months. Drivers taking a car for a test drive need a car for
moving or taking someone else's vehicle for travelling should consider a
short term car insurance policy. This policy can be bought online in
minutes and becomes effective immediately. The benefits of purchasing a
short term insurance policy outweigh the cost if you were to get in an
accident without a policy.

These policies are usually very affordable and can be purchased online
within minutes. Depending on the policy, a few things are required. The
first policy is between one day and four weeks. This policy requires the
driver to be at least 18 years of age, have a UK, Australian, New
Zealand or EU driver’s license. The second policy runs month to month
for as long as eight months. The same conditions apply as above, but a
driver can be at least 17 years of age. Before cancelling either one, a
two week notice must be placed. After each month with the month to month
policy, the driver must decide if they wish to renew the policy or not.
There is no penalty for stopping, unlike a year to year policy.
These policies are entered into the Motor Insurers Database by the end
of the following business day or sooner. Drivers do not have to worry
about waiting weeks for their policy to go into effect. Since these are
short term deals, they must go into effect very quickly to ensure
coverage. The majority of UK drivers can get this type of insurance
quickly for any of their needs.
Driving without insurance can be dangerous and many consequences can
occur if you are caught. The driver and car owner will be punished with
fines, points or jail time if the accident is serious. An affordable
short term car insurance policy can cover both the driver and car owner
in case of any accidents or violations. All drivers should be insured to
protect their vehicle and self. These policies are easily obtained and
don't cost very much. It would be safer to have it even if nothing goes
wrong.
Short term insurance policies can be bought through your local insurance
person, but it would probably cost more and may take longer to go into
effect. Insurance brokers charge a commission, but online companies do
not. To purchase online, all you need is your driver information, a
debit or credit card and a printer to print out your documentation if
you want to.
Whether you buy a car off the Internet and need insurance to drive it
home or you are going on a vacation using someone else's vehicle, a
short term policy can cover you for the duration of the trip, whether it
be one day or eight months. Wouldn't you rather be safe than sorry?
